Al Murphy

After graduating from the Liverpool School of Art in 1999, Al Murphy settled in London where he went about establishing himself as an Illustrator. A one time collaborator with Birmingham based creatives Beat 13, Al has taken part in exhibitions in Sydney, Berlin's Filesharing Gallery, London's Horse Hospital, and LA's Lab 101 (with the Scrawl collective). His current and past clients include, amongst others, MTV, Universal, EMI, Parlophone and Merury Records, the BBC, Orange telecommunications and Coca Cola. For the past couple of years Al has been lucky enough to work in the studio owned by Tank Girl and Gorillaz artist Jamie Hewlett. Here, he learnt many things, least of all that adding a dash of Guinness to a Black Russian makes for the nicest drink in the world. Currently on the books with the Pocko agency, Al splits his time between illustrating and songwriting.
